Lidocaine is a hydro soluble anaesthetic with quick local action (in a couple of minutes). This local anaesthesia may last for half an hour up to a couple of hours, depending on dosage and concentration. Adrenaline is added because of its vasoconstricted action: it prolongs the anaesthesia and diminishes the risk of secondary effects. If not overdosed the toxicity of lidocaine is very low.
Local anaesthesia of the ski, the mucous membranes, muscles, etc. Pe-or post-operative anaesthesia, tooth extractions, dehorning, wound suturing, prevention of excessive bleeding etc.
